Chenille is a unique fabric characterized by soft piles. The name comes from the French word for caterpillar because the fringe resembles that of a caterpillar. Chenille is relatively new to the textile industry, having first been introduced in the nineteenth century, and its popularity in the fashion industry has increased in recent years.
