Karolina Lohiniva

My name is Karolina Lohiniva. I was born and active in Köping with roots from Finnish Lapland where both my parents were born.

For me, “painting is like breathing” and I live my dream through my creation. I want with my paintings to convey the joy I feel when I create.

I find inspiration everywhere and I am constantly in a creative process. I like to create with watercolor and acrylic and I paint what feels fun for the moment. I paint the watercolors in the quiet corner of the home with the radio silent in the background. I often create the acrylic paintings in a larger format, so I paint them in my studio with bushy brushstrokes.

Recurring motifs are mischievous magpies, peonies and geraniums.
